The present situation across the Middle East and North Africa is cause for concern for security professionals globally. Will the violence from ISIS end up affecting business travel, or result in new targets of terrorism? Are there threats from Libya that will impact Europe and the United States? Will unrest in Nigeria grow worse in the run-up to next year’s elections in that country?

The call will be led by Olivier Guitta, a geopolitical risk and security expert with a regional specialization on the Middle East and North Africa, where he has built an extensive source network. Olivier has briefed the UK Home Office, the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, the Swedish Foreign and Defence ministries, the European Union, the United States Congress, and NATO, as well as US presidential candidates, SOCOM, and Europol.

Born in Morocco, raised in Spain and France and educated in Cologne and Paris, Olivier spent twelve years in the USA, working as a portfolio manager for two financial firms. Following the attacks of September 11th 2001, he left the world of finance to work as a geopolitics and risk analysis consultant for large multinationals and governments alike in Washington, DC, and then France, before joining The Henry Jackson Society in 2013.
